The International Particle Analysis Database (IPAD) is a dynamic platform established through joint UK-Japan (EPSRC-JAEA) funding to facilitate multi-national collaborations and best practices in the analysis of particulate material released into the environment following the 2011 Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant (FDNPP) accident. Through combining analysis data on material from various institutions, crucial understanding will be gained to assist in the environmental recovery of the region and to facilitate safe and efficient fuel retrievals and decommissioning at the FDNPP site.
